  About the CNL

The Centre national de littérature (CNL), housed in the former Servais Mansion in Mersch
, is a state-run cultural institute which reports to the Ministry of Culture. It is a centre of documentation and research on Luxembourg's literature from 1815 up to the present time, as well as a focal-point of socio-cultural life centered around books and reading. Its library and archives which are open to the general public comprise around 30,000 books and numerous literary funds (manuscripts, correspondance, photographs, etc.) from Luxembourg authors like Batty Weber, Nik Welter and Anise Koltz.

Users may consult material in our reading room on the first floor. On the ground floor, the CNL regularly hosts exhibitions on subjects of topical literary interest as well as on classic themes of Luxembourg's literary and linguistic heritage.
